I’ll keep this short and honest, because a privacy policy you can’t actually read isn’t much of a promise.
This site was built around a simple idea: your files are your business, not mine. Most of what happens here is designed so that I never see your data in the first place. The sections below explain exactly what that means, and the few places where standard web tracking and advertising do come into play.
The tools don’t send your files anywhere
This is the most important thing to understand. The tools on this site run inside your own browser. When you convert an image, edit a PDF, trim audio or process text, that work happens on your device — the file you choose is not uploaded to my server, not stored anywhere, and not accessible to me or anyone else. When you close or refresh the page, it’s gone from memory. I genuinely cannot see the documents, photos, audio or text you work with, because they never leave your computer.
What I do and don’t collect
I don’t ask you to sign up, and I don’t collect personal details like your name or email unless you choose to send them to me yourself (for example, by emailing me through the contact page). Like nearly every website, my hosting and analytics may automatically record basic, non-identifying technical information — your browser type, device, rough location and which pages you viewed. I use this only to understand how the site is used and to keep it running well.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. I keep them to a minimum, but a few may be used to remember basic preferences and to support the advertising described below. You can block or delete cookies anytime in your browser settings, and the tools will still work perfectly fine without them.
Advertising and Google AdSense
Running this site costs money, and advertising is what keeps every tool free. I use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to show ads. A few things you should know:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on those visits.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings
- You can also opt out of many other third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices
If you’d like more detail on how Google handles data on sites that use its services, you can read Google’s policies
Analytics
I may use analytics to measure anonymous, aggregate usage — things like how many people visited a page — so I can improve the site. This information isn’t used to identify you personally.
Links to other sites
Ads and the occasional link may send you to websites I don’t control. Once you leave this site, this policy no longer applies, so it’s worth glancing at the privacy policy of wherever you land.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect any personal information from them.
Keeping things secure
Because the tools work locally and I collect so little, there’s very little of your data to protect in the first place — which is exactly the point. The limited technical information that is handled is treated with reasonable care.
Changes to this policy
If I update this policy, I’ll post the new version here with a fresh “last updated” date. Continuing to use the site means you’re okay with the current version.
