Voice Recorder

Record audio from your microphone and download it.

🔒 100% private — your files are processed locally and never leave your device.

Sometimes you just need to capture your voice quickly — a memo, an idea, a pronunciation, a note to a colleague — without opening a recording app or reaching for your phone. The Voice Recorder uses your browser's built-in media engine to record straight from your microphone and lets you play back and download the result in seconds.

How to use the Voice Recorder

  1. Click Record and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
  2. Speak, then click Stop when you are done.
  3. Play the recording back to check it.
  4. Download the file.

Quick capture, total privacy

A browser-based recorder is the fastest way to grab a thought before it slips away. It is great for voice memos, capturing the correct pronunciation of a name, leaving an audio note, or recording a quick idea for a song or script. Crucially, the audio stays on your own device — your browser manages the microphone permission, and nothing is streamed or saved to any server.

Tips for a good recording

  • Record somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the microphone.
  • Grant permission when prompted, or the recorder cannot hear anything.
  • Do a short test first to check your input level.
  • Convert the file to WAV afterwards with the audio converter if your next tool needs it.

The output format is whatever your browser records natively, usually WEBM or OGG, and everything happens locally, so your voice never leaves your machine.
