Text copied from PDFs, emails and code editors often arrives broken into short lines, with a hard return at the end of every line rather than only at the end of each paragraph. Pasted into a normal document, it looks ragged and is painful to edit. The Remove Line Breaks tool strips out those stray breaks to give you clean, flowing text, with the option to keep genuine paragraph spacing.

How to use the Remove Line Breaks tool

  1. Paste your broken-up text into the box.
  2. Choose whether to keep paragraph breaks.
  3. Click Clean.
  4. Copy the tidy result.

Why text gets broken in the first place

Many sources wrap text to a fixed width and store a line break at each wrap point, which is invisible until you paste it somewhere that wraps differently. The result is a paragraph chopped into stubby lines. This tool joins those lines back into continuous prose. With "keep paragraphs" enabled, it preserves the blank lines that separate real paragraphs while removing the unwanted mid-paragraph breaks, so the structure survives but the raggedness disappears.

Tips for clean text

  • Keep paragraph breaks on for articles and letters; turn it off to collapse everything into one line.
  • The tool also collapses runs of extra spaces into single spaces.
  • Re-paste into your document and the text will now wrap naturally.
  • Great before counting words, since clean text counts more accurately.
